Leuven, Belgium – October 10, 2017 – Camco Technologies, leader in innovative visual and micro-location based process automation solutions for terminal operators, was awarded the design, installation and commissioning of a comprehensive Gate Automation System at DP World Callao (Peru). The project is expected to be finalized in Q1 2018.
“We are honored that DP World Callao, strategically located near Lima and undisputed gateway for Peru’s import and export container traffic, decided to partner with us to automate their gate processes,” says Anton Bernaerd, Business Development Director at Camco. “Camco’s visual based Process Automation Solutions will contribute to the overall productivity, performance and safety on the container terminal.”
For Callao’s gate automation project, Camco will equip 8 new inbound and 4 new outbound lanes with OCR technology and unmanned driver pedestals to allow for automated processing and validation of truck and container data. Full integration with the terminal’s TOS system will ensure correct and timely decisions.
Eduardo Chappuis, Project and CSR Director at DP World Callao elaborates: “It is crucial to improve the gate processes to accommodate for the higher expected throughput. With Camco’s automated validation and registration processes, we aim to accelerate and simplify gate processes and enhance overall terminal safety and security.”
Camco Technologies is a long-term partner of DP World – successful terminal automation solutions have been implemented in other DP World terminals in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Americas.
