In the past years, Camco has greatly invested in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning technologies to further improve its terminal automation systems. A new generation of intelligent cameras with OCR engines based on convolutional neural networks and AI was developed, tested and implemented in the field. The new camera software based on deep learning models provides excellent results, pushing recognition rates to a maximum and exception jobs to a minimum.

Other areas where Camco is currently applying AI are: the enhancement of damaged characters and data in pictures; container damage recognition; container flight path prediction on STS cranes.
