About Camco Technologies

Camco Technologies is an innovative player operating in a high-tech and international environment. The company is located in Heverlee and employs around 170 people and is active in container, railroad and ro-ro terminals as well as ports.

Automation projects are based on a combination of hardware and software products. These products are mainly developed, produced and installed by Camco. Among these applications you will find intelligent industrial cameras, self-service kiosks, traffic control, rails, real-time location solutions and process software, as well as in-house developed image processing software.

 

Function

  • You support in the monthly service meetings with customers and you follow up the correct execution of the service contracts;
  • You support your employees to grow in their role of support engineers and technicians;
  • You assess the quality level of our services on a monthly basis and you monitor the KPIs on the basis of the reports and analyses;
  • You are responsible for the planning of the service team: technicians and support engineers;

    Profile

    • You preferably have a higher education;
    • You have min. 5 years of relevant management work experience in an operational environment;
    • You are interested in ICT, Technology and Engineering;

    • You express yourself fluently in Dutch and English and are also a communicator;
    • You have strong analytical skills, work in a result-oriented way and are able to coach a team;

    Camco Technologies joined forces with the major actors of the Hungarian Logistics sector for promoting intermodal transport. Together with the Association of Hungarian Logistics Centers (MLSZKSZ), Mahart Container Center and East-West Intermodal Logistics PLC, Camco is committed to enable environmentally friendly modes of freight transport in Hungary.

    New Locomotive designed to promote green transport

    As one of the first stages of the attitude-forming activity, supported by the International Union for  Road-rail Combined Transport UIRR, East-West Intermodal Logistics Ltd, and organized by the Association of Hungarian Logistics Service Centers, a new Taurus-type electric locomotive has been inaugurated at Budapest Western Railway Station October 8th.  The locomotive design draws attention to the importance of environmentally friendly modes of freight transport and, above all, intermodal transport.

    To mark the importance of sustainable freight transport at the East West Intermodal Conference October 15th, the new locomotive bearing the Camco Technologies logo, left Budapest for the greenfield East-West Intermodal terminal near the Hungary Ukraine border. Supported by the MLSZKSZ,  East-West Intermodal Logistics Ltd and Mahart Container Center, the locomotive will help reducing road transport on the New Silk Road Gateway.

    Camco Technologies is the terminal automation partner at both Mahart Container Center and East-West Intermodal terminal. Camco Technologies AI embedded cameras check in- and outbound railwagons, container and semi-trailer cargo at MCC. At the East West Intermodal terminal, Camco Technologies will implement its gate automation solution including Vehicle Booking System (VBS), truck OCR and registration kiosks. Crane OCR will help automating yard operations while Rail OCR will provide instant inventories of freight trains.

(50% each) You will perform installations, maintenance and service tasks of technical client installations at container terminals in the Americas and be part of a team providing remote technical customer support.

     

    Your job description

    Field Technician (50%)

    • Perform service interventions at client sites in USA & Canada mainly and South America occasionally.
    • Understand technical problems effectively through proper analysis, evaluation and diagnosis.
    • Perform work orders according to the applicable standards and safety instructions.
    • Prepare and submit service reports, maintenance records and installation reports.
    • Build positive relationships with customers by providing outstanding and excellent services
    • Adjust equipment according to requirements.
    • Instal parts of industrial systems according to documentation.
    • Diagnose system errors with PC
    • Configure and test technical equipment.
    • Identify wor, broken, or dysfunctional components for repair or replacement.

    Support Engineer (50%)

    • You will be part of a team providing technical customer support. The current team of 14 engineers is based in Europe (Belgium).
    • You work in Long Beach together with 4 colleagues during US West Coast extended day hours (between 9 am and 9 pm) , to relieve the European team.
    • You work in day-shifts, Monday through Sunday. (Rotation during weekends).
    • You work in a 4-day or 5-day working week
    • You follow-up on customer inquiries from terminal operators, maintenance personnel and technicians worldwide, by email and phone.
    • You resolve inquiries within the agreed timings and escalate further where needed.
    • You are the first point of contact for customers in case of a defect, outage or problem.
