Reliable truck interchange at the ASC transfer zone
Grid / LSTP kiosks provide a controlled, guided and safe interchange process. They tell the driver when to enter, where to stop, what to do, and when the handover is complete. The TOS receives real-time job status information — without radio calls or manual coordination.

How it works
- The driver checks in at the kiosk.
- The kiosk confirms the job and location with the TOS.
- The kiosk provides the safety briefing and verifies driver presence.
- The interface guides the driver step-by-step through loading or discharge.
- The crane receives the exact timing signal to pick or place the container.
- The driver leaves only when the operation is complete and confirmed.
This avoids idle crane time, reduces misplacements and keeps the yard safe.
Designed for the transfer zones
Grid kiosks are built for straddle carrier–based operations, where trucks park in defined grids — typically one Grid kiosk per parking lane.
LSTP kiosks are designed for ASC-based operations, where one LSTP kiosk usually serves two parking lanes.
In both cases, the driver exits the cabin during the handover.
Both kiosk types use the same technology:
- 10-inch touch interface with clear step guidance
- VoIP intercom for direct operator support
- RFID reader for fast driver identification
- Presence, confirmation and emergency stop buttons
- Optional camera views to show the lift in progress
- Optional radar/camera devices to verify empty lanes
- Optional roof-mounted traffic light (for straddle-based operations)
- Optional rain roof
The front technology panel is hot-swappable, allowing support teams to replace components in minutes — no reconfiguration required.
Minimal downtime. Maximum continuity.
Integration
The kiosks interface with the crane PLC (LSTP) or directly with the TOS (Grid). They are compatible with crane control systems and automation stacks from:
- Kalmar
- Konecranes
- ABB
- Cargotec
- TMEIC
And, of course, fully integrated with THE BRIDGE and the Terminal Operating System.
Why it matters
At landside transfer points, timing and clarity are critical. Any uncertainty in the handover process creates waiting time, errors, or unsafe situations.
- Predictable truck–ASC interaction
- Safer working conditions
- Less radio coordination
- Fewer incorrect set-downs
- More consistent terminal rhythm during peak volume
A small kiosk. A large operational impact.
