Driver guidance
The Vehicle Mounted Terminal (VMT) supports terminal truck drivers and straddle carrier drivers with clear, real-time operational guidance. The web-based interface provides an intuitive and easy-to-use experience, accessible directly from the in-cab terminal.
A live terminal map displays the real-time location of the vehicle, helping drivers maintain situational awareness and follow optimized routes. In a separate window, the VMT presents the assigned job, including source and destination locations and the container or containers to be moved.
By combining real-time positioning with clear job instructions, the VMT reduces errors, improves efficiency, and ensures smooth coordination between planning systems and on-terminal execution.

Automatic job stepping
Automatic job stepping removes manual confirmations from terminal operations and ensures accurate, real-time task execution. The Vehicle Mounted Terminal (VMT), together with CHEOPS, Camco’s RTLS back-end server, takes full control of job progression.
CHEOPS continuously monitors equipment activity and position data and uses twistlock PLC signals from straddle carriers or RTG/RMG cranes to determine when a job is automatically started, progressed, or completed. This eliminates the need for driver interaction, reduces human error, and ensures consistent job status updates.
As jobs advance automatically, the VMT updates the operator in real time, while accurate execution data is sent to backend systems. The result is reliable job tracking, improved productivity, and seamless coordination between terminal trucks, cranes, and terminal systems—without additional workload for operators.
