Capturing essential data
Camco's gate solutions enable terminals to automate the processing and validation of truck and container data and, simultaneously, obtain hi-res images for condition recording of trucks and cargo. The OCR camera portal scans all in and outbound trucks and trailers with unmatched speed and accuracy. The system automatically detects and reads container numbers, ISO codes, trailer numbers, license plates, chassis numbers, IMDG dangerous goods labels, door directions, container position on the chassis, detects damage automatically, etc. The data checks and high-quality images are instantly shared with the Terminal Operating System (TOS), providing accurate data to improve terminal steering processes, truck turnaround, and customer satisfaction. The top-quality pictures are stored for effective damage claims management.

A single-camera drive-through portal can handle up to 500 trucks per hour. One or two portals are typically installed in front of the gate lanes. Spot-line triggering allows even bumper-to-bumper traffic: no need for traffic throttling solutions, such as speed bumps, traffic lights, or barriers.

Argus Automated Damage Inspection
The Camco OCR/OFR Truck Portal supports ADI: Container damage; type, severity, and location are registered and flagged when above a customizable pre-set threshold in our Argus Automated Damage Inspection application. The ADI engines embedded in the cameras can detect more than 20 different damage types as holes, dents, tape, etc.
With Argus ADI, preventing severely damaged containers from being processed is vital for protecting terminal staff and assets.
Automated detection of non-structural damage like holes or rips lets you inform your customers of the container's condition status when entering or leaving the terminal.
But even without Argus ADI, all high-res pictures are stored and retrievable at any moment for damage claims management purposes.
