Proud to be partner of Vizhinjam Port's ambitious step forward on the path to prosperity
Camco Technologies is to automate India's first mega transshipment container terminal in Vizhinjam Port. The project includes gate automation, STS-crane automation as well as keeping track of container handling equipment.
A new container terminal, strategically located.
Adani Vizhinjam Port Private Limited (AVPPL) a subsidiary of ADANI GROUP, is developing a semi-automated transshipment terminal in the Green Field Vizhinjam Port. Vizhinjam is to become India’s first Mega Transshipments Container Terminal. Located at the southern Coast of India in Keral State, Vizhinjam port is located only 10 nautical miles away from the international shipping lane.
Gate and STS-crane automation
High-tech gate automation technology.
Camco Technologies has been awarded the automation of the gate and STS-crane automation. The scope of the gate automation includes pre-gate self-service kiosks for the registration of drivers without a pre-booking and yard access infrastructure but also in- and out truck camera portals, gate lane kiosks and the gate operating system or GOS.
Camco will deliver its new software front-end system The Bridge. This web-based user interface is an intuitive operator software application combining all Camco solutions in one single tool.
Deploying BoxCatcher STS-crane OCR
For the automation of its quay operations automation, the Vizhinjam terminal has opted for the Camco patented BoxCatcher STS-crane OCR solution to be deployed on 8 quay cranes.
The unique BoxCatcher STS system registers all containers regardless of the container’s flightpath. The camera system travels onto the crane-mounted vertical legs. Connected to the crane PLC, the camera follows the spreader and is always at the best position to capture every box.
Bay load verification
The data is also used to check the correctness of the BAPLIE information file. Camco’s Bay Load Verification software doublechecks the ship’s stowage coordinates and load plan with the crane’s operations.
If containers have been improperly stowed in previous ports, the verified information helps the terminal to submit claims for having to restow containers.
Tracking container handling equipment
The final building block to reach operational excellence, is the integration of Camco’s Real-Time Location System. Real-time monitoring of all container and container handling equipment movements will contribute to a better synchronization of all vertical and horizontal handling.
A customizable management dashboard helps monitor terminal operations 24/7.
