First container discharged at Hateco Haiphong International Container Terminal

05 March 2025

On February 6, 2025, the Hateco Haiphong International Container Terminal (HHIT) in northern Vietnam reached a major milestone by successfully discharging its first container.

Led by CEO Nguyen Van Tien, HHIT is positioning itself as Vietnam's most innovative terminal. The company plans to develop deep-water berths by 2025, enabling mega-ships to dock and cutting logistics costs in Northern Vietnam.

HHIT prioritizes automation and sustainability. It aims to become Vietnam’s first semi-automated container terminal, with full automation as a long-term goal. To achieve this, HHIT is integrating advanced technologies such as automated gate systems, container damage inspection (ADI), and the BoxCatcher crane OCR camera. Camco Technologies and other partners support these advancements.

At the event, Camco’s BoxCatcher, a flying ship-to-shore crane OCR camera, supervised the first container discharge. This ensured accurate container registration and smooth crane operations.

We congratulate HHIT on this achievement and support their mission to strengthen Haiphong’s role as a top logistics hub in Southeast Asia.
